Start with you:
- Pray for a right attitude towards our new president - if you didn’t support President-elect Obama, then I would encourage you to pray that God will give you a right attitude towards him if you don’t have one already. You might not agree with his positions, but that is no excuse to direct personal hatred toward him. Our country has had too many who have expressed a personal hatred for President Bush over the last eight years and that is not an attitude that Christians should have no matter who the president is or what policy positions he holds.

Pray for President Obama’s personal and family life:
- pray that he has health and safety during his time in office
- pray that his personal life reflects the type of character (honestly, wisdom, perseverance, etc.) that brings honor to the office of president and represents our country well.
- pray for his wife Michelle and the strength of their marriage
- pray for his children Malia and Sasha

Pray for President Obama’s spiritual life:
President Obama has stated in interviews (with Christianity Today for example) that he has personally trusted in the forgiveness of sin offered by the redeeming work of Jesus Christ.
- pray that his life will be a reflection of the gospel that he professes
- pray that he sets aside time daily to meet with God through bible study and prayer and that God will use those times to shape both what he believes and how he lives.
- pray that he and his family find a solid bible believing church to attend in Washington D.C.
- pray that he will seek out Godly spiritual advisers who will boldly speak the truth of God’s word into his life

Pray for President Obama’s Administration:
- pray that he surrounds himself with wise counselors with a variety of perspectives to give him good advice
- pray for wisdom for him as he makes important decisions on behalf of our country
- pray that God would change his heart on issues that the Bible speaks clearly about, such as protecting the unborn and defining marriage as between one man and one woman
