i’m tired of talking about these fires although there are more people i know personally being affected by them than ever before.

my coworker is wearing clothes from various family members because her place was evacuated before she got home from work on saturday night. didn’t get to grab anything…
one of the girls even bought her some leggings.
i gave the ever necessary managerial OK for one of the other girls to wash her hair before they left for the day. (heaven forbid she have to use pantene pro-v on her gorgeous red hair…)

my friend is out there trying to put the fires out.

the school my mom works at was closed today and will be tomorrow and so forth because the smoke is so heavy in the air that they are at risk if they go out for recess.

gotta keep the windows closed despite the heat because the smoke is drying out my eyes. (bonus, however: AC)

one of the firefighters told my coworker that they are concerned people may not be able to return home til Sept. 8th. They hope to have it all contained by then.

every morning i brush some ash off the windshield.
